Lifeline
Last updated: August 29, 2026
Lifeline is a personal, local-first application, currently operated by and for its own developer. These terms govern use of the software and are intentionally short, because the service is intentionally small.
Lifeline runs on the user's own hardware and reads the user's own communications (with their explicit authorization) to surface tasks, commitments, and context. It is provided as personal software in active development, not as a commercial service. There is no fee, no subscription, and no service-level commitment.
Lifeline has no accounts of its own. Access to Google data is granted by the user through Google's OAuth consent and can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access stops all further reading of Google data immediately.
The software may only be used to process communications belonging to the person who operates it, on accounts they own or are authorized to access. Using Lifeline to monitor another person's communications without their knowledge and consent is prohibited.
The user owns their data, all of it, at all times. Lifeline claims no rights over the content it processes. Data handling is described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Lifeline uses AI models to extract, summarize, and draft. AI output can be wrong: dates may be misread, relationships misinferred, drafts imperfect. The software is designed so the user reviews before anything leaves their device โ Lifeline never sends a message on the user's behalf โ and nothing it produces should be treated as professional, legal, or financial advice.
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from its use โ including missed obligations, incorrect extractions, or data loss. The software's whole purpose is to help with such things; it does not guarantee them.
These terms may be updated as the project evolves; the date above changes when they do. The user can stop using Lifeline at any time by revoking access and deleting the local database, which removes everything.
